Only 15 minutes away from our shop, lies the beautiful Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary. Explore the rock pools: near the shore, the rocks are covered in red, green and brown algae that shelter small marine creatures, including tiny brittle stars, snails and small crustaceans such as sandhoppers and crabs. Many seabirds gather to roost on the rocks at low tide or to scavenge along the shoreline, including Melbourneβs famous black swans.

A perfect destination if you are renting a bike for an hour. Only 10 minutes away from our Sandy shop, you find Half Moon Bay. Get fish & chips from The Cerberus Beach House, a local's favourite. While you are enjoying your lunch, gaze out over the ocean with boats gently bobbing on the shimmering water, take in the views of the cliffs or watch the kids jumping of the pier. Half Moon Bay has a relaxing vibe, although when the weather is warmer it's vibrant at the same time.

You will be rewarded with magnificent views over the Bay on the one side, on the other side you can see beautiful architecture, interesting cars driving past or just enjoy the palm trees. If you have time, make a loop around the wetlands (2km β 10 min) or ride to a huge adventure playground in Chelsea (bicentennial Park). The ride is easy and peaceful.

Ride along the coast to Southbank. From there continue on the City Trail. It links some of the best cultural, entertainment, sporting and outdoor recreation opportunities that Melbourne has to offer. Starting at the vibrant entertainment hub of Southbank, it winds along the grassy banks of the Yarra River past the Victorian Arts Centre, Royal Botanic Gardens, the MCG and Melbourne Park. Cross the river at Burnley and return along the other side of the Yarra River to make a loop.
