Look for the Electrically Power Assisted Cycles (EPAC) that require the rider to pedal to access the power, an electric motor that has a maximum continued rated power of 250 watts and a throttle that can be locked for use under 6 KM/H without pedaling. These bikes follow the Australian road legality standards and are classed as bicycles, therefor the rider doesn't have to be licensed. Always check laws in your state, you are responsible to comply with and obey by the rules applicable to your situation.
Most of our bikes can take you anywhere from 60 – 100 km on a single charge, depending on terrain, assistance level, and rider weight. Some of our bikes have an optional extra battery extending the range to 170 - 200 KM.

Yes! We highly recommend it. You can book a free short test ride in-store or schedule a longer ride by renting one of our DiroDi Rovers Gen 3 to Gen 6 if you’d like more time to explore. If you decide to buy your bike with us, we will refund your rental sum (T&Cs apply).
Of course! Whether you're planning for school runs, fun rides, or shared commuting, it's good to try if an E-bike fits your family's lifestyle and your purposes for buying an E-bike. You can hire the DiroDi Rover Gen 6 for an hour up to 2 weeks to see if the bike is right for you. That way you can really find out if an E-bike is for you.
