No, no license is necessary. Our bikes follow the Australian road legality standards and classify as a standard bike.
It is not so much about age, but more about height and ability. Minimum riders' height is 150 CM. On average 12-year-olds will be tall and capable enough to ride our bikes. Riders under 18 get 50% discount of the e-bike hire rates when accompanied by at least 1 full paying adult. We want Bay Bikes to be a fun, affordable family activity.
The Rover is powered by a 250 watt motor and has a torque of 55 N.m for great hill climbing power, and is able to reach the speed of 25 km/h (legal assisted max speed).
